I can’t tell you how much the breathing exercises helped me during the pushing part of labor. The pelvic exercises really helped me to avoid back labor. Your practice and all the services you offer are truly incredible.

Class Descriptions

Prenatal Yoga

Gain new understanding of how the pregnant and laboring body is unique as you discover the innate and awesome power you hold within. The prenatal yoga practice includes many beneficial elements not found in regular yoga classes, and women gain a deeper understanding of the importance of various modifications for every trimester. Prenatal yoga addresses the tremendous physical, emotional, and mental changes experienced during pregnancy and invites you to explore and embrace these changes as you connect with your innate maternal wisdom. Class includes movements and breath work that helps reduce common discomforts of pregnancy and introduces strategies, practices and information to utilize during labor and beyond. You will also have the opportunity to connect with other moms-to-be, ask questions and share resources. Prenatal yoga is often the starting point for many new friendships and parent-organized support networks. This class is recommend for women in all trimesters of pregnancy. No previous yoga experience necessary.

What Past Prenatal Students Have Said:

"Your classes, advice and help over the past 7 months has been so helpful. The labor and delivery was very smooth and I thank you for that! I couldn't have done it without you. I already miss prenatal yoga. By far one of my favorite things about being pregnant." ~Jackie

“I wanted to thank you so much for all your help. I don’t think I could have had a drug free birth if I hadn’t attended your wonderful classes.”

“I heard your voice in my head throughout my whole labor and it really gave me strength. I felt strong and encouraged by all of the breathing and pelvic floor exercises we had done. I can’t thank you enough.” ~Julia

“Prenatal yoga class was one of my favorite things throughout this pregnancy. I always looked forward to it and felt so good during and after! I appreciated all the insight and information you offered and the personal attention. I don’t think my experience would have been the same with just any teacher.” ~Liz

Mom & Baby Yoga

Babies 6 weeks - pre-crawlers

This “fourth trimester” class is a playful and special time to bond with your baby. You will practice gentle movements and yogic techniques for relaxation, rejuvenation and core toning to help you re-inhabit your body after birth. The practice will also help release some of the common discomforts associated with being a new mom, such as neck, shoulder and back tension. Mom & Baby Yoga  includes the opportunity to learn baby exercises and nurturing touch for your baby that provide a number of benefits during the early stages of your child's development.

We encourage you to feed your baby, change your baby and bring whatever you need to feel comfortable during the class. Don’t stay away simply because your baby is awake or fussy! You and baby should be at least 6 weeks postpartum and cleared by your doctor to attend. No previous yoga experience necessary. Please bring a baby blanket and baby’s favorite toy.

Yin Goddess Yoga

Yoga for Peri-Meno, Menopause and Beyond
Class is held on alternating Sundays
(see schedule above)

Yin Goddess is a nurturing approach developed by Kelly Devi in celebration of the wise woman years (age 38+). As our children grow older and then begin to leave the nest, women contend with many shifts and changes; physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. This can be a lonely and challenging time, but it is also a special time when women discover the profound life wisdom they hold within. This class supports the feminine psyche and encourages reconnection with the natural ebb and flow of nature and the corresponding cycles within the body. Working with they mind/body connection, this class addresses the powerful physical, emotional and mental shifts that accompany peri-menopause and menopause to encourage an overall sense of well-being and inner contentment. This class connects you with a dynamic women's circle, addresses women’s issues (such as breast, bone, joint and pelvic floor health), and renews appreciation of your radiant and beautiful inner goddess.

Yin Yoga overall is a reflective practice that is highly complimentary to other styles of yoga. This meditative mind/body practice specifically targets the connective tissue, joints, meridians (energy pathways) and organs of the body. This practice can improve range of motion, joint hydration and bone density, but it also provides an opportunity for a much deeper release and transformation of energetic congestion in the body (as a result of held emotions, habitual thought patterns, stress and life experiences).  A Yin class involves fewer poses that are held for longer lengths of time. Yin yoga challenges students to work slowly, mindfully and respectfully on their edge with instruction on how to personalize practice for the appropriate level of intensity according to individual needs.

NOTE: Students in this class should be able to get onto and off of the floor with relative ease and be able to bear some weight on hands and knees.

Hatha Elements

Class is held on alternating Sundays (see schedule above)

Hatha offers a methodical, meditative approach to yoga that is ideal for those seeking a slower, internally focused practice. This approach targets core and connective tissues: bones, joints and organs to develop a greater range of motion, joint hydration, muscular tone, strength and flexibility, as well as improved focus, stress reduction and exploration of yogic practices that bridge the body/mind gap. Students will practice asana, guided deep relaxation, pranayama (breath techniques), meditation and nada (yoga of sound) in every session.

Hatha Elements was developed by Kelly Devi and is characterized by a focus on the primary elements (earth, air, fire, water, ether). This specialized hatha practice brings awareness and balance to the often overlooked, yet powerful cosmic and elemental energies that reside within and strongly affect well-being of body, mind and spirit. Participants in this class feel a stronger connection and awe for the ebb and flow of the inter-related cycles of nature that exist not only around us, but also within.

NOTE: Students in this class should be able to get onto and off of the floor with relative ease and be able to bear weight on hands and knees. This practice is open to women and men at all stages of life, but not recommended during pregnancy.

PRACTICE LEVEL: Experienced beginner (6-8 months of previous practice) +
